President’s Note

Hi All,

As we transition to the new normal, it is my hope that MTAC Santa Cruz County Branch may continue to be a source of information and support.

One of the most difficult changes to navigate for musicians and music appreciators alike has been the discontinuance of live concerts.

With our rich local music offerings seemingly on hold, fortunately many local arts organizations have created a wealth of online content for our enjoyment.

Please visit our ‘Resources’ page to explore performances by MiM, Santa Cruz Symphony, Cabrillo Festival, Santa Cruz Baroque Festival, Monterey Chamber Orchestra and Espressivo to name a few.

Even if we cannot all go to a concert together at this point in time, music has never mattered more than it does right now.

Best Wishes,

Celebrate Piano Ensemble!

Online concert coming soon!

Celebrate Piano Ensemble, a group which raises money for music scholarships for school-age students of Santa Cruz County, has given annual benefit concerts each February on the beautiful matched Steinway grand pianos in the UCSC Music Center Recital Hall.

This year, we’re offering two videos online – Best of CPE – taken from the last ten years’ concerts. There will be music for two pianists at one piano, two pianists at two pianos, three pianos and string quartet, one piano and two tango dancers, two pianos and rock band… Something for everybody to enjoy!

Watch this space for links coming soon for the compilation videos – and an opportunity to donate to music scholarships for Santa Cruz County students!
