President’s Note

Greetings,

Serving our local music community for the past four years has been a pleasure. Our MTAC branch and foundation will be in good hands with our incoming President—cellist, educator, and long-time MTAC member Roger Emanuels. I look forward to continuing in a new board role as Vice President.

I encourage local music students to continue taking advantage of our local and state programs—including the Talent Bank Awards Festival (TBAF) and Certificate of Merit (CM). CM allows students Level 3 and above to apply for State Convention Recitals, which have been a fantastic experience for my participating students. It’s beneficial and important for young musicians to connect to their musical community, locally and across California!
